THE BRISTOL HILLS MUSIC CAMP PROGRAM
Bristol Hills Music Camp accepts band, orchestra and vocal majors. Each major group rehearses three hours each day, including sight reading. The groups are divided by age and/or ability as determined by staff recommendations. Junior High groups generally include musicians in grades 7-9 and Senior High groups generally include those in grades 10-12.
Our program includes the following:
String Ensemble - All Junior High String majors
Chamber Ensemble - All Senior High String majors
Symphony Orchestra - All String majors and wind and percussion players selected by audition
Senior High Concert Band - All Senior High Band majors
Junior High Concert Band - All Junior High Band majors
Senior and Junior Jazz Ensembles - an Elective
Senior Chorus - All Senior High campers*
Junior Chorus - All Junior High campers*
*All campers sing in their age appropriate chorus. Both choruses perform in the final concert.
Vocal Ensemble and Techniques - A daily rehearsal and class for all Vocal majors
Music, Media and Theater Elective Classes - Campers choose from a selection of fun, interactive daily classes (see pictures below)
Small Ensembles - Optional groups formed by interest; they may perform at evening recitals
Evening Recitals - solo and ensemble performances presented for the entire camp each evening. Campers are encouraged to perform.
Private Music Lessons - Optional lessons offered by our talented staff for all instruments, voice and guitar. Cost is $30/half hour.
Final Concert - All major groups perform in a formal concert on Saturday (pick-up day) at 1 PM. The concert is free and open to all (pets are not allowed on camp premises).
