BHMC HISTORY
Bristol Hills Music Camp has been in existence for 56 years. It began as a marching band camp and has evolved through the years into our current program, which includes musical enrichment for band, orchestra and vocal participants. We are the only residential music camp in New York State that still exists in the traditional camp setting where we live in cabins, eat in a dining hall, practice in the beauty of nature, and have campfires! Since camp is held toward the end of summer, campers have a head start in music as they return to school.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Our camp has a Boys Village and Girls Village, which are separated by the Main Lodge. Campers are only permitted in their respective villages. They live in cabins that house between 7 and 21 campers and counselors. Cabins will be arranged by age. The music groups are also formed by age. 7th-9th graders are in the Junior High groups and 10th-12th graders are in the Senior High groups. Occassionally a musician will be moved to a different group to help with instrumentation or at the recommendation of the group directors.
